Stoke welcomes Watford to the Bet365 Stadium for this match in the Championship. The home team are currently 14th with 12 points while the visitors are 10th with 14 points. Stoke have had a wildly inconsistent season but had an excellent goalless away draw to QPR in their last match. The biggest positive for them since their sacking of manager Michael O’Neill has been their defence. Stoke conceded eight goals in their first five matches but since then they have only conceded three in their next five games. Due to their defensive improvement they have only lost one of their last five matches. Stoke have proven difficult to beat at home and have lost just once in their four matches at the Bet365 stadium. They will be looking for redemption after losing home and away to Watford the last time the visitors were in the Championship.

Watford have had a disastrous start to their season in the quest to gain promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking. Owner Gino Pozzo's has reacted to this by sacking manager Rob Edwards after just ten games into the season. The appointment of Slaven Bilić as the new boss is hoped to guide Watford back towards the playoff places. They are currently just a point behind the sixth placed team but more importantly they are already six points behind Norwich who occupy the automatic promotion second spot. Watford have only won one of their last eight matches across all competition with four draws and three defeats.
