There’s huge League One Playoff Semi-Final second leg action on Thursday night as Stockport County face Leyton Orient at Edgeley Park with both teams level after a 2-2 draw in the first leg at the weekend. County will be aggrieved that Orient’s first goal was allowed to stand,  as the player scoring was yards offside, but they bounced back well to earn a draw and come into this tie as the favourites against the U’s. Our prediction is that this match will be a very closely-fought one. So, who will reach Wembley?

Dave Challinor’s Stockport finished third in League One on 87 points, five behind Wrexham in second and nine clear of today’s opponents. Richie Wellens has done a fabulous job at Orient, with their excellent late-season form pushing them into the playoffs. They finished sixth in League One with 78 points from their 46-game regular season. 

Heading into this game, Stockport have won nine and drawn one of their last ten home games in League One, a formidable record. They are unbeaten in nine home and away and that included a 3-1 win away to Wycombe Wanderers on the final day of the season, ahead of their 2-2 draw in the Playoff Semi-Final first leg against today’s opposition.

Prior to the 2-2 draw at the weekend with Stockport, Orient had won all their last six games and are now unbeaten in eight. That run includes four away wins including a 4-1 win at Huddersfield on the last day of the season.
