Arguably, the match of the weekend in the PSL will see Western Cape rivals Stellenbosch take on Cape Town City at The Danie Craven Stadium on Friday. The hosts are fourth in the league standings, while the visitors are second. Stellenbosch have been good this season. They are currently on 20 points after their first 13 games and a victory here will see them cut the gap to two points to their opponents. Stellies will also come into this match brimming with confidence after defeating Richards Bay 3-0 to book their spot in the Carling Knockout Cup final against TS Galaxy. That win was also the hosts third on the bounce, while they have not been beaten in their last eight in all competitions. Stellies are also unbeaten in their last five matches against this opposition, including four wins and a draw. 

Cape Town City narrowly missed out on a CAF Confederation Cup qualification spot last season but look determined not to suffer the same fate this term. They briefly had the lead in the league standings while Sundowns were busy in continental competition but are currently trailing the mighty Brazilians, who have a two-point lead and four games in hand. The Citizens come here looking to defend a six-match winning streak in the league and managed back-to-back clean sheets on either side of the international break. In addition, having been knocked out of the Carling Knockout Cup back in October, the visitors did not play last weekend, which should see them head into this match well-rested.
