Stan Wawrinka vs Roger Federer Prediction & Betting Tips - Roland Garros

Roger Federer hasn't played the French Open since 2015 and last made it to the semi-final stage seven years ago. He made the decision to play the clay court season this year but could onlly manage to reach the quarter-finals in Madrid and Rome losing to Dominic Thiem and Stefanos Tsitsipas. It's his first Grand Slam quarter final since Wimbledon last year after losing in the fourth round at both the 2018 US Open and the 2019 Australian Open. So far in Paris Federer is yet to drop a set with only one of them going to a tie-break. He's not had the hardest of routes to the last eight with none of his four opponents being currently ranked in the top 60.

He has a tougher task here as his opponent is former French Open winner Stan Wawrinka. He's seeded 24th for this championship and the 34-year-old (three years younger than Federer) has had a much more difficult time in the last week. He dropped a set to Josef Kovalik in the first round, had to win three tie-breaks in a straight sets win over Gregor Dimitrov in the third round and then had to go to 8-6 in the final set to knock-out the sixth-seed Stefanos Tsitsipas. Wawrinka has only won three of his 25 previous meetings with Roger Federer and beat him here in the 2015 quarter final and went on to win the title. Federer has won all six meetings since that defeat and he leads Wawrinka 4-3 on clay. Go for Federer to win this match and set up a potential semi-final against Rafael Nadal.
