St. Mirren will be at home this Saturday against Rangers on the final day of the 2022/23 Scottish Premiership season. Both teams have already confirmed their placings for the season with Rangers second and St. Mirren sixth. St. Mirren will finish sixth and outside the qualifying places for Europe as they were unable to win any matches after the split. Rangers have beaten St Mirren twice this season and in each match, they have scored at least four goals. They won 5-2 at home just five weeks ago in the penultimate round of the regular season. Michael Beale’s charges will be confident of another success as they are the only unbeaten team since the split. They have won three of their four matches. Despite this strong form, Rangers will finish for the second season in a row as runners-up to rivals Celtic. The Gers blew their chance at the title right before the split as they lost their final two matches. A 2-0 loss to Aberdeen preceded a 1-0 defeat at home by Celtic leaving them 13 points off the pace. They have since cut down the gap to seven with Celtic able to afford not to win every match. A consolation for Rangers is that they have secured qualification to the qualifying rounds of the Champions League. They come to this match after a 2-2 draw with Hearts earlier in the week.
