Sporting Lisbon take on Porto in the final of the Portuguese League Cup. A win for Sporting will see them win this competition for the fifth time in six seasons. As for Porto, they'd be winning the Portuguese League Cup for the very first time and this is their fifth final. They lost to Sporting in the 2018/19 final but will be hoping for some revenge here. They are currently third in the Portuguese Primeira League and seven points clear of Sporting who are fourth. Porto are unbeaten in their last 14 league and cup games. Their only loss in their last 22 games has been to league leaders Benfica. In the League Cup, Porto finished top of Group A and then beat Gil Vicente and Academica in the quarter and semi-final without conceding a goal making it four consecutiive wins with clean sheets in this season's Portuguese League Cup.

Can they dethrone the current cup holders? Sporting strolled through their group with three wins over Farense, Rio Ave and  Maritimo with 13 goals and none conceded. The goal glut continued with a 5-0 home win over Braga in the quarter finals. It was tougher in the last four though as they needed a late goal to get a 2-1 win at Arouca. Sporting haven't been in the best of form in the Primeira League of late with only one win in their last three games. They have lost their last three games against Porto and it's their opponents who can win the cup for the first time.
