SC Braga vs Rio Ave Prediction & Betting Tips - Liga Portugal

Sporting Braga will be looking to get into the top four in the Primeira Liga standings this week when they play host to Rio Ave at Estadio Municipal de Braga on Sunday evening. While Braga have made a solid start to the 2024-25 Primeira Liga season, it pales in comparison to Sporting Lisbons’s record this term. Indeed, the Lions are already seven points clear of Braguistas just six games in. 

Nevertheless, Os Arsenalistas will enter this match with bags of confidence after getting their Europa League campaign started with a 2-1 win over Maccabi Tel Aviv in midweek. 

The one area that Braga will want to see major improvement, though, will be their home form, having split their first three league games this season one win, one draw and a loss. 

When these two met last, it ended in a goalless draw which extended Braga’s unbeaten record against this opponent to six in a row, including four wins and two draws. 

Meanwhile, after feeling the wrath of Sporting in the opening week of the campaign, Rio Ave have struggled for consistency. They have won two, lost two and drawn their most recent match 2-2 at home to Estoril. 

Notably, all three of Rio Grande’s away league matches this season have ended in defeat, which is in keeping with their dismal form on the road from last term, when they failed to win a single match on their travels.
