Spezia host Verona in a one-off match to determine which side is relegated to Serie B next season. The home side finished a place above 18th placed Verona but level on points. A new rule this season has determined against goal difference or head-to-head results determining important issues in Serie A. Therefore, Spezia (who would have been relegated if goal difference did count) now host Verona with the losers being relegated.
