As the Women’s Nations League enters the final round of matches, England and Spain will be facing off in one of the eagerly awaited encounters. These two nations are battling in Group A3, and Spain will be hosting this particular match. Spain, the world champions, lead the group on 12 points, while England, the reigning European champions, are second on 10 points. The group winner advances to the finals, so there’s everything to play for, and below we have a prediction.
Spain, who also won the first edition of the Women’s Nations League, will be clear favorites here. They are ranked two places ahead of England, and playing this key game at home works for them too.
While Spain need just a draw to progress to the finals, England must win to get there. They’ve already beaten Spain in this competition and will be targeting a double. In a rematch of the 2023 World Cup final, can England end Spain’s title defence here? Read on for more.

Spain W - England W: Form Analysis
This match will have similar vibes to the Women’s Champions League final, which featured clubs from these two nations – Barcelona and Arsenal. Spain would want to take revenge on behalf of Barcelona, who lost the game in Lisbon.
Spain, ranked the second best in the world, had a faulty start to their Group A3 assignments, falling 1-0 to England on matchday two.
They, however, recovered with three straight wins and benefitted from England’s slip-ups to go top. Spain's last outing resulted in a 5-1 thrashing of Belgium, after earlier subjecting Portugal to a 7-1 demolition job in the fourth round of fixtures.
As things stand, Spain only failed to score in the England game.
Across League A, only Germany (20) have scored more than Spain (19).
England were well on course in this group after the win over Spain. They followed it up with a resounding 5-0 home win over Belgium.
However, when all seemed to be going well, things changed with a shock 3-2 loss in Belgium. The Lionesses were forced to rise from 3-0 down, their comeback just falling short.
On the other side, Spain took advantage to go top. Not even the 6-0 thrashing of Portugal would send England back on top. It will be particularly concerning for Sarina Wiegman that England have struggled on the road in recent matches.
The visitors are winless in the last three away games.

Spain W & England W Squad Analysis
There aren’t many injury concerns in the Spain camp. Only Laia Codina will miss out among all the players called up. It is not specified the kind of injury the Arsenal midfielder is carrying, but she is definitely out.
Another Arsenal name that will turn heads in this game is Mariana Caldentey. The forward has had a good season at club level, helping the Gunners to European glory.
Esther Gonzalez will be bidding to add to her four goals, a tally equaled by England’s Agnes Beever-Jones and a few others.
Olga Carmona scored the only goal when Spain last beat England.
Sarina Wiegman has a lot of balancing acts to think of in the England team. Talk of Mary Earps’ shock retirement has cooled down, and the new number one, Hannah Hampton, has settled in well.
Grace Clinton’s suspension will be among the issues Wiegman is forced to deal with. She will most likely have Georgia Stanway, a returnee from injury, as a replacement.
Depending on their fitness levels, the manager, needing attacking firepower, might also start with Ella Toone and/or Alessia Russo. Both missed the last game with respective calf injuries.

Our Spain W vs England W Prediction
England have their backs against the wall. They go into this game bearing all the pressure, as only a win would work in their favor. In such cases, mistakes do happen, and Spain have the quality to punish them. It doesn’t aid England either that their away form in the Nations League has just been poor (1W 1D 3L).
On the other hand, Spain are in good shape and have also done well when playing at home. Our prediction for Spain v England is that Spain wins the match.
Spain W vs England W - Other Interesting Predictions
Over 2.5 goals
England have kept three clean sheets in their last four Nations League matches. Their defensive solidity will be put to the test when they face the second-best attack in the competition. Both England and Spain have been scoring a lot ahead of this game. With such trends, we will back this game for the same. Our second prediction is for this match to have over 2.5 goals.
