Simona Halep vs Sloane Stephens Prediction & Betting Tips - Roland Garros

It's great being ranked number one in the world but there's still something missing for Simona Halep. She has yet to win a Grand Slam tournament but that could end when she takes on Sloane Stephens on Saturday in the French Open final. Halep is playing in her third French Open final having been beaten by Maria Sharapova in three sets in 2014 and Jelena Ostapenka last year. It was agonising for her last year as she was a set up. This is the second Grand Slam of the year and in Australia, the world number one also reached the final, this time losing to Caroline Wozniacki. She really is knocking at the door and has had a couple of struggles in Paris against Angelique Kerber and Alison Riske. In the semi-final she beat Garbine Muguruza losing just five games. If she can repeat that form, then that first Grand Slam title can't be too far away.

Sloane Stephens knows just how to win a Grand Slam tournament after her victory at last year's US Open. That final saw her beat fellow American Madison Keys and she beat her again in the semi-final here winning in straight sets 6-4 6-4. Stephens had a terrible run after the US Open but bounced back to form with victory in Miami and the 10th seed has been in good form in Paris with only one set dropped so far.but faces an uphill battle here against an opponent she has lost to in her last four matches. They have met twice on clay before with Halep winning in straight sets on both occasions. This looks like being the day Halep finally gets her maiden Grand Slam title.
