Matchday 15 in the English Premier League sees 20th-placed Sheffield United hosting second-place Liverpool. Sheffield are coming off a humiliating 5-0 away loss to fellow basement dwellers Burnley on Saturday, a result which now sees Sheffield sitting rock-bottom of the standings with just five points accumulated over 14 matches. The Blades are also reportedly on the verge of sacking manager Paul Heckingbottom following the most recent defeat and there are doubts as to whether or not the 46-year-old will be in the dugout for Liverpool’s visit to Bramall Lane. It’s been a miserable campaign so far for Sheffield who have managed just a single win, two draws and have suffered 11 defeats. The hosts have also been the leakiest team in the division with 39 goals allowed, seven more than the next highest at 32. To make matters worse, the Blades are also the lowest scoring team in the league with 11 goals.

Liverpool will be seeking their third consecutive win as they also look to push their unbeaten run to five games. The Reds were involved in a breathtaking seven goal thriller which saw them overturn a goal deficit in the final three minutes of relegation time to secure a 4-3 victory. Wataru Endo equalized in the 87th minute followed immediately by a Trent Alexander Arnold winner in the 88th minute. The three points puts Liverpool one point clear of third-place Man City and two points clear of fourth-placed Aston Villa. Jurgen Klopp’s men now trail leaders Arsenal by two points with the two set to face off at the end of December. Liverpool have been crushing at Anfield this season but have sung a different tune on the road. The visitors are just 2-4-1 on their travels with a +2 goal differential compared to a perfect 10-0-0 record across all competitions (7-0-0 in the Premier League).
