Uganda are seeking to make a first ever appearance on the knockout stages of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) and it will be a bold step towards the target if they can beat Senegal in the second of their Group B clash at the competition. Senegal leads the standings with three points after beating Ivory Coast 1-0 in their opening game. The Senegalese are looking to emulate their senior team counterparts who are the reigning African champions. The win over Ivory Coast was their third in the last five matches and in CHAN action, they have three clean sheets in the last four games, and failed to score in just two of the last five. Four of their last five CHAN matches have produced under 2.5 goals and they’ve scored more than a goal in just one of the last five CHAN matches. In four previous meetings against Uganda, Senegal have never lost.

Uganda on their part, will come into this game on a much disappointing run, having failed to win any of their last four matches. They played to a 0-0 draw with Congo DR in their opening game of this group, making it four games without scoring in the last five. They have thus failed to win in four of five matches but they have three clean sheets in their last five games. Three of their last five matches have produced under 2.5 goals and all the four meetings between these two sides have produced under 2.5 goals. The fact that they have just one loss in eight matches will however lift them ahead of this game. However, they have no goals in four of their last five away games.
