Madagascar are looking to make their first appearance at the African Nations Championship memorable, as they head to the semi finals, where they are set to take on Senegal. This will be the second semi final and Senegal, on their third appearance, will be keen to advance to the final for the first time even. In their earlier two appearances, Senegal’s best has been a fourth place finish, in 2009. In their four matches in this competition, Senegal have three wins, three clean sheets and a loss. They surprisingly lost to Uganda in the group matches, but quickly recovered to thrash DR Congo 3-0 in their final group game. Three of their four matches have produced under 2.5 goals, with Senegal scoring more than a goal in just one of the four matches.

Madagascar are in top form coming into this game; it is their first ever appearance but they are unbeaten in their three matches so far. They saw off Mozambique 3-1 in the quarter finals, their third straight win at this competition and also the second straight time they scored three goals. They have a clean sheet in their three matches and have conceded two goals in the three games. Madagascar have scored eight goals so far and come across as the most lethal side in attack remaining in the competition.
