Sekhukhune United will look to continue their good PSL form when they play host to Cape Town City on Tuesday afternoon. The hosts are currently in third place in the league standings, while the visitors are fifth. This is a crucial match in the race for the top three, with just a single point separating the sides. Sekhukhune United have been one of the surprise packages this season and are currently holding the best record in the PSL since its return following the Africa Cup of Nations. The Hedgehogs beat Orlando Pirates 2-1 over the weekend, taking their record to five wins in a row, and are unbeaten in their last six. After losing their first three home games of the season, Sekhukhune are now unbeaten in their last seven games at the Peter Mokaba Stadium dating back to the start of October last year and and are riding a three-match winning streak. The hosts also won the reverse fixture 1-0 back in August and are the marginal favourites in this one. 

In contrast, Cape Town City have been in a slump since the AFCON break. They played out a goalless draw at home to Kaizer Chiefs over the weekend, marking their fifth consecutive match without victory, including three draws and two losses and have also failed to score in any of their last three league games ahead of this one. As a result, they have slipped to sixth place in the league standings, now on 32 points and could drop to eighth if they lose here and other results go against them. On the road this season, the Citizens have taken 17 points from a possible 36 and are looking to avoid a third winless outing following a draw against Chippa United and a 2-0 loss to Royal AM. Having played a game more than the sides above them, this feels like a must-win for the visitors to keep within touching distance of the top three, though it will not be easy against arguably the most in-form side in the league at the moment.
