This Top 14 round six fixture will see sixth-placed Section Paloise play host to league leaders Bayonne on Friday. Les Sectionnistes will look to return to winning ways after last weekend’s defeat to RC Toulon. Here is our prediction for the match.

After winning their opening two matches, Section Paloise have not been consistent lately. They have lost two of their last three matches, including a 33-17 away defeat to RC Toulon last weekend – a result which saw them slip to sixth in the standings with 14 points.

However, the Pau-based side have turned their home ground into a fortress lately. They have won their last four home matches mostly by convincing margins. They are also unbeaten in their recent four home encounters with Bayonne (W3, D1). 

Bayonne have relished a brighter start to their Top 14 campaign than Section Paloise. They have won four of their five matches, including an impressive 40-26 victory over defending champions Stade Toulousain last week. 

This remarkable start in the French rugby top-flight has seen the team climb to the top of the standings with 16 points. However, they haven't been convincing in their last nine away matches (W1, D1, L7).
