Sixth seed Jack Draper begins his 2024 grass court campaign. The British player takes on unseeded Sebastian Ofner in round one of the BOSS Open in Stuttgart. For the winner, there's a second round match against either Andy Murray or Marcos Giron. Draper is 40th in the live rankings and will have his mind set on getting into the top 32 so he can be seeded at Wimbledon this year. He's lost his last three matches but they were all played on clay. He missed last year's grass court campaign due to injury so will be keen to get back playing on this surface. In 2022, Draper beat Taylor Fritz on grass and also got to the last four in Eastbourne.

Sebastian Ofner is 52nd in the live rankings and in his last tournament reached the third round at Roland Garros, losing to Corentin Moutet. The Austrian is yet to reach the quarter-final of any tournament he's played in 2024. On grass, he made it to the final of a Challenger Tour event last year but didn't beat anyone ranked in the top 100. His best performance at Wimbledon has been reaching the third round but that was seven years ago. Since then he's failed to qualify four times and lost in the first round last year.
