In an all MLS Western Conference match, third placed Seattle Sounders host FC Dallas who are seventh.  Seattle start the weekend three points behind leaders Saint Louis City after 23 games. They have played a game more than Saint Louis and second placed Los Angeles FC who are a point ahead of them. The home side had won two successive matches before being beaten at San Jose Earthquakes in their most recent outing. That was their eighth Conference loss of the season and five have come on the road. Home form has seen them win six, draw three and lose three. However, they have only conceded five home goals and that's the best home defensive record in the Western Conference. Four clean sheets have been kept in the last five at home but the last five haven't seen more than one goal scored in the match.

FC Dallas are four places below their opponents but only six points adrift with a game in hand. The Hoops are in the play-off positions but only a couple of points ahead of tenth place. Eight games have been won by them in the Western Conference but nine games have been lost. Current form is a real problem for the Toros with four of their last five matches ending in defeat. Three of those losses came on the road and that makes it six away defeats this season in 11 matches including the last four. Only eight away goals have been scored by them and only two sides in the MLS Western Conference have scored fewer on their travels. The temptation is to go for Seattle to win and under 2.5 goals in the game. However, FC Dallas have conceded eight goals in their last four away games so we'll just go for a Seattle home victory.
