Royal AM will play host to Orlando Pirates in the South African PSL on Sunday afternoon. The hosts are currently in 12th place in the league standings, while the visitors are third. With seven games left to play in the season, Royal AM still have a bit of work to do to secure their top-flight status. They are currently on 29 points, nine points above Richards Bay, who occupy the sole relegation playoff spot. Thwihli Thwahla come into this match off the back of a 1-1 draw away to Golden Arrows last week, which followed a 3-2 win over Polokwane City a couple of weeks earlier. Those results marked just the third time this season that the team have gone back-to-back games without defeat. At home, Royal AM have been solid this season, currently unbeaten in their last six games, including four wins and two draws. However, the hosts lost to this opponent 4-2 earlier in the campaign and are the clear outsiders in this one. 

Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates are in good shape and will be looking forward to a big end to the season. They overcame Amazulu 4-2 at the start of the month to book their place in the semi-final of the Nedbank Cup and followed that result up with a 1-0 win over the same opponent last week in the league. The latest victory took them to 40 points after 24 games, three points behind Stellenbosch in the CAF Champions League qualification spot and one ahead of fourth-placed Sekhukhune United. The Buccaneers are also on a three-match winning streak and unbeaten in their last four in all competitions (W3 D1 L0). However, they have been less impressive on the road, with just one win recorded in their last five away league games, along with two draws and two losses. Still, the visitors are unbeaten in their last five encounters against this opponent and will know they need another positive result here to keep ahold of their top-three spot.
