12th seed Cameron Norrie faces wild card Roberto Bautista Agut in round three of the Barcelona Open. The winner of this match will take on either 13th seed Tomas Martin Etcheverry or unseeded Brandon Nakashima in the last eight of this outdoor clay court tournament. Norrie is 31st in the latest ranking list and can move up a place if winning this match. The British player will need to go well in the coming weeks to ensure his seeding at Roland Garros. After receiving a bye in the first round, Norrie took on qualifier Harold Mayot. He lost the first set, won the second and then his opponent retired. Both those sets went to a tie-break. Norris is up to 22nd in the ATP Live Race after that victory. This year has seen him get to the last four of the clay court tournament held in Rio, an event he won last year. Last week saw him lose to Karen Khachanov in Monte Carlo.

Roberto Bautista Agut was due to face Khachanov in round two of this ATP 500 tournament. The Russian withdrew and instead the Spaniard took on and beat lucky loser Andrea Vavassori in straight sets. Before that, Agut beat unseeded Roman Safiullin in the first round, again in straight sets. Those wins have taken Agut to 85th in the live list but 30 places higher in the ATP Race. This is the second year in a row that he's made it to the last 16 in Barcelona. Six years ago he reached the quarter-finals of this tournament. He trails Norrie 2-0 in previous meetings, one of those losses was on clay in a Davis Cup tie six years ago that went to five sets. This could be a close match and we believe it will go to three sets.
