A struggling Richards Bay will play host to Orlando Pirates in the PSL on Saturday afternoon. The hosts currently occupy the relegation playoff spot, while the visitors are in seventh place. After avoiding the drop by four points last term, Richards Bay have struggled to kick on in the current campaign. They have managed just nine points in 12 matches and are six points above Cape Town Spurs at the foot of the table. The Natal Rich Boys have also played a game more than most of the teams around them. The hosts got a much-needed victory in their last match, beating Spurs 1-0. That result halted a run of three consecutive defeats and was their first victory in five league matches. The only real joy they have had this season has come in the League Cup, where they are still standing after beating this opponent on penalties earlier this month. Richards Bay have only won one match at home in the league this season and are likely to struggle to improve that record in this one. 

Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates will be looking forward to the opportunity of getting their revenge for that League Cup defeat in this one. They fielded a second-string side that day and were punished for it, and are unlikely to make the same mistake this time. Pirates will come into this match with bags of confidence after securing a 1-0 win in the Soweto Derby against Kaizer Chiefs before the international break. That was their second league win on the bounce and third match in succession without conceding in regulation time. However, they are still a long way from the type of form that saw them finish as runners-up last season. Still, against a struggling opponent, Pirates are heavily fancied to come out on top in this match.
