Lens will continue their Champions League qualification charge when they travel to Roazhon Park this weekend to take on Rennes this Saturday. The visitors are currently in third place in Ligue 1 with 57 points in 28 matches, just two points behind Marseille, who currently occupy the second Champions League qualification spot with the league leaders PSG. Lens won their last league match in convincing fashion, 3-0 over Angers, which extended their recent unbeaten record to five matches, including three wins and two draws. Lens has been resilient in away matches this season, with four wins, eight draws, and two losses in 14 matches on the road. However, this also shows that they’ve struggled to convert good performances into three points away from home. Lens won the reverse fixture 2-1 and, knowing that there’s no room for error, will see this as a must-win to keep the pressure on the sides above them. 

Rennes also won their last league match with an excellent performance at the Parc des Princes to bring an end to PSG’s incredible 30-plus match unbeaten run on their home ground. The hosts come into this one in fifth position, with 50 points in 28 matches, just one point above Lille, who is the first side outside the European Cup qualification spots. Rennes has won three, drawn one, and lost two of their last six matches, but their home form has been strong this season, with a record of 11 wins and three losses in 14 matches at Roazhon Park. With just 10 matches left in the season and the table still remaining tight, this could be a crucial result for Rennes come the end of season.
