The playoff round in the Europa Conference League qualifiers will get underway this week, with Rapid Vienna taking on Fiorentina. This first leg will take place at Allianz Stadion on Thursday, and the winners of this tie will qualify for the  Conference League group stages. They have conceded just two goals so far this season while scoring 22 in that period. However, they now face their biggest challenge this season, against a side that are one of the favorites to reach the group stages. Meanwhile, few can forget last season's Conference League final when Jarrod Bowen's stoppage-time winner denied Fiorentina the title. The visitors will be out for redemption this season but were almost unable to compete in the competition. They finished in eighth place in Serie A last season and were the first side below the Conference League qualification spot. Despite their poor league position last term, Fiorentina ended the league campaign well. They won three of their final four league matches and drew the other match against Torino.
