Rangers will do with a little more stability when they welcome Hibernian at Ibrox for their next Premiership match on Saturday. With three more rounds before the final part of the season starts, Rangers are second and Hibernian sixth. For Rangers, there is clearly a lot to play for here, trailing Celtic by a point, while they have a game in hand. Rangers return to action hoping to recover from their Europa League elimination at the hands of Benfica. In their last game before the international break, they fell to a 1-0 loss at home in the Europa League last 16. That was their second loss in four games, and they’ve managed just a win in the last four matches. Their last game domestically happens to have been against the same opponents they face on Saturday. Rangers blanked Hibernian 2-0 away in the Scottish Cup, and that remains their only clean sheet in five matches. Both teams scored in three of their last five matches. After losing their last two home matches, Rangers will be eyeing an improvement here.

Hibernian have suffered losses in each of the last six meetings with Rangers. That run includes three defeats this season in which they conceded nine goals. For Hibernian, just like Rangers, this is a key game. Placed sixth with 38 points, they are two points ahead of seventh placed Dundee. Avoiding defeat here will be key in their quest not to drop into the relegation places. The fact that their only defeat in their last eight matches was against Rangers, gives Hibernian the incentive to go for revenge. Right ahead of the international break, Hibernian posted a key win, in beating Livingston 3-0. It was another showcase of their improving attack, scoring at least twice in three of the last four games. A winless run in five straight league matches will however not be the best to take into such a game. They’ve drawn each of their last four away league games, and have just two wins in 12 away league games.
