Rangers - Celtic: Form Analysis
The season’s first meeting between these teams back in August ended 0-0. Rangers would win the second showdown 3-1 away from home at the start of this year. The two results sandwich a 3-1 win for Celtic in the League Cup.
Danny Rohl’s men haven’t lost any of their last six games. They have struggled to win, though, in this unbeaten run. Winning three times in this streak, the Light Blues played to another draw last time out as they came from behind to seal a 2-2 result at Livingston. The result left them four points behind league leaders Hearts. Rangers have won 15 of 28 games and have suffered just two losses.
Celtic have lost twice under Martin O'Neill.
Celtic have amassed 54 points. Though they’ve lost more matches than Rangers (seven), they have won more - 17. It is impressive to see the Hoops this high up in the standings, given their managerial issues. Celtic have been a revolving door for coaches this term, as they have appointed four managers thus far.
Martin O'Neill returned to the club in January, a month after leaving his interim role. The veteran tactician had been appointed as caretaker manager in October following the resignation of Brendan Rodgers. Since returning to the club, Celtic have lost just twice in their last 13 outings. The two defeats came in back-to-back games and were halted by a 1-0 win away to Stuttgart in the Europa League in midweek.

Rangers & Celtic Squad Analysis
Rangers are dealing with multiple absences due to injury. Connor Barron, Derek Cornelius, Bailey Rice, and Nedim Bajrami are all out. Surprisingly, Rangers right-back James Tavernier is the club’s leading scorer with 13 goals.
He will be relied upon to provide the attacking punch here too. Youssef Chermiti, who scored twice in the last Old Firm Derby, has netted seven times thus far. Alongside Bojan Miovski and Djeidi Gassama, the Gers have men they can rely on for goals.
Celtic’s Auston Trusty is ruled out of this game through suspension.
Midfielder Arne Engels is the latest player to enter a crowded Celtic treatment room. He has joined long-term absentees Adam Montgomery, Callum Osmand, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Alistair Johnston, and Jota.
Benjamin Nygren has been excellent in his first season with the Hoops and leads all other scorers with 18 goals. 14 of those have come in the league, where he leads the race for the Golden Boot. Daizen Maeda is his partner in crime. The Japanese forward has netted seven of his eight goals in the league.
