The sixth and final Old Firm derby of this season will be played at Ibrox as newly-crowned Scottish Champions Celtic will travel to arch rivals Rangers. The home team are coming off a 1-0 win over Aberdeen but that couldn’t keep the interest in the title race going. Truth be told, the hosts have been sub-par to their arch rivals all through the season. Two defeats in their last four league matches extinguished any little hope they may have had of extending the race. They finished a whopping 13 points behind Celtic in the 33-game initial phase nearly taking all the interest out of the six-team Championship group. Rangers are already guaranteed to finish second, so all that is left is to halt the celebrations of their visitors and pick up their first win of the season in Old Firm derbies.

Celtic have won four and drew one of the previous five derbies this season, including a 1-0 win in the Scottish Cup semis before this round. They followed that up with a 2-0 win over ten-man Hearts on last Sunday, which was enough to give Celtic their 11th league title in 12 seasons. It has also moved them to 53 titles and within two of Rangers, who have won it the highest number of times at 55. It would take a lot to stop the visitors as they haven’t lost in any competition since early November when they were beaten 5-1 by Real Madrid. Post that defeat, Celtic have stitched a 28-game unbeaten run in all competitions winning 26 and drawing two. Even in the league, they are unbeaten in 27 matches, drawing two and winning 25.

As is the case with any other Old Firm derby, the odds are closely stacked together. A Rangers win is being offered at odds of 2.91 on an average while a Celtic win is the favourite at odds of 2.40. A draw is the least preferred option but not quite far off at odds of 3.60 being offered in the market.

Rangers - Celtic: Form Analysis

The home side are coming off a win but that only masked what has been a poor run of three defeats in four matches prior. That sequence included a 1-0 defeat at this venue against Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi-finals, as Rangers are practically done for the season. They have been in stunning form at home though, winning 15 and drawing two of their Premiership matches at the Ibrox this campaign. Celtic followed that win in the Scottish Cup semis over Rangers with a 2-0 win over Hearts that confirmed their title. Rangers are likely to miss out on the services of Ben Davies who may have tweaked his hamstring. Malik Tillman is another player who’s going to be absent and he may not play again this season.
