Scottish League Cup action is set to take centre stage with a doubleheader on Sunday, and in our feature match, we will see Rangers and Aberdeen lock horns in the first semi-final at Hampden Park. In league terms, Rangers come into this match in second place, 20 points clear of their opponents and looking very good under the leadership of Mick Beale. Rangers have been on a great run of form recently, unbeaten in nine matches in all competitions and come in fresh off a convincing 2-0 win over Dundee, which followed a strong performance over old rivals Celtic. Rangers are unbeaten in their last 13 matches against this opposition and have won the last three, with clean sheets in each. They will fancy themselves to extend that record even further and have their sights firmly set on another final. 

Aberdeen also comes into this match following a 2-0 win over St. Johnston and is currently fourth in the league. However, despite their strong league position, Aberdeen has been inconsistent over the course of this season and will hope that the form they have shown in the cup up to this point will carry through against a team that they have not beaten in over three years. It's going to be a mammoth task for them to overturn a very solid-looking Rangers team, but they will definitely give it everything they have in search of a place in the final.
