Queen's Park have it all to do if they want to play in the Scottish Premiership next season. They host Partick Thistle having lost the away first leg 4-3 of this Scottish Premiership play-off quarter final. Queen's Park went 2-0 down in the first leg but pulled it back to 3-3 in the second half. Partick secured a first leg lead with a 97th minute winner. Queen's Park come into this second leg having lost each of their last three games. Not just that but they have conceded 11 goals in those three matches, while scoring seven themselves. Losing their last two league games saw them drop from second to third in the Scottish Championship table. They had been just one point behind eventual champions Dundee. Now they have to win this game to prevent a crushing end to the season. Two of their last three home games have been lost but they'll hope for a repeat of the 2-0 home win they had over Partick in January of this year.
Partick Thistle will have been expecting a better lead but in the end were glad they got one at all. They finished fourth in the Scottish Championship, only a point behind Queen's Park. They have had a much better end to the season than their opponents. They are now unbeaten in their last seven matches with only one loss in 14. Away from home, Partick have only lost one of their last eight Championship games. Queen's Park will have to come forward to try and get back into this tie (the winners of which face Ayr in the next round) and that will leave gaps at the back. A win for Partick is our suggested wager.
