After contrasting finishes to last season and poor run-ins to this season, Queens Park Rangers and West Bromwich Albion meet in an interesting battle. This Championship match on the opening weekend will be played at Loftus Road in London on Saturday, with a likely prediction of a satisfying trip for the visitors.

Queens Park Rangers finished last season in the 18th position, with 56 points and only six above the relegation zone. It was a campaign that had its ups and downs, but the bigger worry for the Rangers was that they had fewer points at home than away. Changing that narrative will need them to improve on their pre-season form, though, which has been poor.

The hosts have lost their last three friendlies, each time failing to score after scoring 11 in a single friendly. The challenge against West Brom will be tough as the Baggies look to improve on their last-season performance. The visitors ended fifth in the regular season before falling aside in the playoffs against Southampton.

There’s still a lot to improve in this campaign for West Brom, as they finished the regular season with almost half the number of points away from home (26) than at home (49). Worryingly, though, the visitors had a dreadful run in the pre-season friendlies, losing five of their six games, including four in a row.
