Loftus Road will host a key Championship match on Sunday as Queens Park Rangers face Middlesbrough in a game that should see plenty of entertainment. QPR's playoff hopes have faded in recent weeks, while Boro's hopes of finishing top have taken a blow and they are now hanging on to Coventry's coat-tails. Here's our prediction for the match.
Currently, the Hoops are 15th in the Championship table, taking 47 points from 35 games. They are now 10 points adrift of Wrexham in the final playoff spot but 12 points ahead of the relegation spots. The Smoggies lie second in the table with 66 points from 35 games, five behind Coventry in top spot, but only three ahead of Ipswich in third.
Rangers have won just one of their last six games. That run included a 3-1 defeat away to Blackburn Rovers followed by a 3-1 win at Hull City but then QPR were beaten 5-0 at Southampton and then 2-0 at home by Sheffield United in their most recent game this past weekend.
Middlesbrough's recent run has seen them go down to a 3-1 defeat away to Coventry, but they then were held 0-0 at home by Oxford United and followed that with a 1-1 draw also at home, to Leicester City. On Monday night, they got back to winning ways with a 3-1 win at Birmingham City.

Our QPR vs Middlesbrough Prediction
Our prediction for the QPR vs. Middlesbrough Championship match is: Middlesbrough wins.
QPR season so far has been one of up and down form. They have had good runs, but have also seen a string of poor results drag them back into the mid-table melee. Middlesbrough have been far more consistent over the course of the season and they have an excellent recent record against the Hoops in recent seasons. Add to that the need for points to remain second, we're backing Boro to land the win here.
