Armenian side Pyunik will eye a return to winning ways when they host Celje in the Conference League play-off round. The first leg of the tie will be played on Thursday in Yerevan. Read on for our prediction of this match.

A 2-0 home loss to Alashkert disrupted Pyunik’s run of four unbeaten matches. They will hope to restart it here, having won three of the last five matches. The Armenian side’s season started in the Champions League but they were eliminated in the 1st qualifying round.

They saw off Struga and Ordabasy in the last two rounds of the Conference League to book this playoff spot. In both rounds, Pyunik won the home legs and will be looking to continue in the same breath here.

A win in this game will hand them a fourth straight victory in this competition.

Slovenian side Celje is also here courtesy of previous elimination from European competitions. They started off their season in the Champions League but dropped to the Europa League before finally finding themselves in the Conference League.

Here they come off the back of two winless outings. They fell 3-1 to Shamrock Rovers in the Europa League ending the tie 3-2 on aggregate. In their last game they twice had to fight from behind to secure a 2-2 draw with Olimpija away from home.

If they can avoid defeat here, Celje will consider it positive since their home matches have been more assuring. The Slovenian side has no win in four away matches, losing three of them. In seven away matches, Celje managed just one win.
