Preston North End vs Watford Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship

Watford will be away to Preston North End on Saturday seeking to get back to winning ways in the English Championship. Four points separate the two sides coming into this weekend with Preston in eighth having the advantage over 12th-placed Watford. Preston are coming off a morale-boosting victory that put to a halt a four-match run without a win. Ryan Lowe’s men had lost three times and drawn once before they convincingly defeated Huddersfield 3-1 away from home. Their ninth win of the season moved them to 32 points and got them back into the playoff picture. The Lilywhites are just one point adrift of the top six.

Watford haven’t won in two outings and in their last match they were defeated. Valerien Ismael’s men lost an early lead to high-flying Ipswich last time out and lost 2-1 at home. Watford have now lost seven league games, the same number as they have won and drawn. Their inconsistencies have left them just eight points above the drop zone which isn’t a real concern for now. But another loss here could see them drop a further five places down. Their recent record against Preston will however have the Hornets confident of a positive outing here. Since their return to the Championship, Watford haven’t lost to Preston and have picked up eight points from a possible 12.
