Portsmouth face Barnsley in League One on Tuesday knowing that a victory will ensure that they win the League One title in front of their Fratton Park faithful. A 1-1 draw away to Bolton at the weekend wasn't quite enough to win the title, but did dent Bolton's hopes of earning an automatic promotion spot. Pompey have lost just four games this season in 43 matches, two of those at home, and they are unbeaten in their last 16 matches, winning 11 and drawing five of those games. Only three points would guarantee them top spot in the table as Derby can get 92 points if they win their last two games, and the Rams do have a slightly better goal difference (+38 to +35). 

Fifth placed Barnsley have earned more points away from home this season than at Oakwell, winning 12, drawing 6 and losing 3 of their 21 away games so far this season, compared to 9 wins, 6 draws and 7 defeats at home. However, the Tykes have hit a run of poor form with just two wins in their last nine games, four of which have been defeats with three draws. They have won just one of the last six and at the weekend were held to a 2-2 draw at home by Reading. A win for Barnsley here would confirm a playoff spot for the Yorkshire side. A defeat could open the door for Blackpool or Lincoln to perhaps snatch their spot in the playoffs.
