Porto will be out to boost their Primeira Liga title hopes when they host Braga on Sunday. Two points separate the two teams coming into this match with Porto in third having the advantage over fourth-placed Braga. Porto can move to within two points of top spot with a win here. However, they could be down eight points by the time they take to the pitch as leaders Sporting play a day before them. Sergio Conceicao’s men have stuttered recently in the league and have failed to win in two of their last three games. They drew 1-1 with Boavista last time out in the league. Two matchdays before that they had suffered a disappointing 2-0 loss to Sporting. The Dragons are coming off a 4-0 thrashing of Estoril that saw them advance to round 6 in the Taca de Portugal. Zaidu Sanusi will miss out here as he is on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Braga are also somewhat in the title picture and will be out to boost their credentials here. Artur Jorge’s men have amassed 33 points and sit seven points behind top spot. They have won 10 of 16 matches and are one of four teams to have won 10 or more thus far. Recently, however, the Archbishops have struggled for form. They have won only two of their last six fixtures across all competitions. Braga, who haven’t won in two outings, were eliminated from the Taca de Portugal in their last match. A 3-2 defeat by Benfica saw them eliminated in the round of 16 from a competition they had made the final last season. Braga will be without Simon Banza, Luis Asue, and Sikou Niakate who are out on international duty at the AFCON.
