Two League Two playoff hopefuls meet on Saturday at Vale Park. Hosts Port Vale welcome Salford City with just two places separating them in the current standings. Will our match prediction back the home town Valiants to land the win, or can the Ammies dent their rivals' playoff hopes and boost their own?
The two teams are separated by just two spots in League Two and four points. Port Vale occupies sixth and a spot in the playoffs at present and has 52 points from 30 matches so far. Salford City lie eighth, one spot outside of the playoff berths with 48 points from their 31 league matches.
Darren Moore’s Port Vale came into this game in good form. Unbeaten in seven, they have lost just one of their last dozen games at home. They come into this game having earned a 3-3 draw away to Swindon Town a couple of weeks back and then followed that up last weekend with an important 1-0 home win over Notts County.
However, Karl Robinson’s Salford City have also found good form of late after a slow start to the campaign. They defeated Tranmere Rovers 2-0 a couple of weeks back at home but last weekend travelled to second-placed AFC Wimbledon and lost a tough away game 1-0 to the team second in the table.
