Can Albania make it to the World Cup finals for the first time in their history? The Red and Blacks travel to Poland in this play-off semi-final with the winner traveling to either Sweden or Ukraine in the final. Read our match prediction below.
Albania finished second in qualifying Group K, ten points adrift of England but a point above Serbia. Although they have twice qualified for the Euro finals, a place in the final stages of the World Cup has always eluded them. It would mean so much to them if they were to qualify for Group F where they'd be up against the Netherlands, Japan and Tunisia. They face a tough task in this semi-final.
Poland finished second in Group G, three points adrift of the Netherlands. The White Reds made it to the last 16 of the 2022 World Cup. If they can make it through the play-off rounds, the Eagles will be playing in their third consecutive finals. It'd be the first time they've managed to make it to three finals in a row since a run of four consecutive qualifications between 1974 and 1986.

Poland - Albania: Form Analysis
Poland only lost one of their matches in Group G. That was away to the Netherlands who won the group by three points from the Poles. Poland finished a comfortable seven points clear of third-placed Finland.
The Eagles were unbeaten at home in their group. They drew with the Netherlands but were able to defeat Finland, Malta and Lithuania with only one goal conceded. Poland are unbeaten in their last six matches. An away loss to Finland was their only defeat in ten games played in 2025.
Four wins and a couple of draws have been achieved since being beaten by Finland. At home, Poland are unbeaten in six matches. Five in a row had been won before a 1-1 draw with the Netherlands.
Can Albania make history?
Albania were no match for England in Group K and finished second, ten points behind the Three Lions. The Red and Blacks finished a point clear of Serbia to give them this chance of finally qualifying for the World Cup finals.
They won four of their eight group games, their two losses were both to England. The big problem they have is scoring goals. Only seven were scored in their eight qualifiers. On the road, they beat Serbia and Andorra but lost to England and drew with Latvia.
Their last three away games have all been won to nil. They had been unbeaten in eight games before losing to the group winners. Seven of their last eight games have seen under 2.5 goals scored, so a side bet on that stat could win.

Poland & Albania Squad Analysis
Poland has the distinct edge on Albania in a few ways here. Firstly, the Eagles are far more experienced at qualifying for major finals. They have played in the last two World Cup finals and the last five European Championships.
They also have more players who are in the top European leagues. That's topped of course by Robert Lewandowski who has scored more goals for Poland than any other player. He has been in good scoring form for Barcelona with a couple of goals against Newcastle in the UCL last week.
Lewandowski has scored in two of Poland's last three internationals and scored four goals in their qualifying group. They will be without Przemyslaw Frankowski and Lukasz Skorupski for this match.
Scoring isn't easy for Albania.
Albania are a difficult team to beat but they really struggle to score goals. Just seven were scored in their eight qualifying group games and four of those were scored against bottom-placed Andorra.
At one stage last year, the Red and Blacks played four internationals and scored only three goals. Of those, none came from open play with an own goal scored by Latvia and a couple of penalties against Gibraltar and the Latvians.
None of their players have scored more than seven international goals. Their top scorer in their qualifying group was Ray Manos with three goals. Kristjan Asilani will be a vital player for them as he's scored in two of their last four World Cup matches.

Our Poland vs Albania Prediction
Home advantage and experience are going to be vital factors in this match. Poland have a strong home record and are used to qualifying for major finals. They have a stronger squad than their opponents and Robert Lewandowski is in good scoring form.
Albania are dreaming of a first ever World Cup finals appearance but face a tough task here. They did well to finish second in their group but their lack of power up front may well hurt them here. Our main Poland v Albania prediction is Poland wins.
