Ipswich Town will be away to Plymouth Argyle on Saturday seeking to boost their promotion cause in the English Championship. They currently are third after 34 rounds of play while Plymouth are 32 points behind in 15th. Plymouth put to a halt a five-game run without a win last time out as they beat Middlesbrough 2-0 away from home. Ian Foster’s men had lost four times in that five-match stretch before their success at the Riverside. They have now won 10 matches and have pulled themselves five points clear of the relegation zone. Plymouth, now on 40 points, will be eager to not suffer another setback immediately after a positive result. The Pilgrims have lost their last two matches at home without scoring. Both have been against teams currently in the top five.

Ipswich Town have regained their form and this has come at the right time given the promotion push is slowly intensifying. Kieran McKenna’s men haven’t lost in five outings and have won their last four games. Before this rich vein of form, they had managed just two wins in 11 fixtures. This slowly saw them lose ground in the title race and now sit six points off the pace. The Blues have amassed 72 points and are tied with second-placed Leeds and are five clear of Southampton in fourth. The top two teams will secure automatic promotion to the Premier League and there are 12 more rounds left to play. Ipswich were 3-1 winners over Birmingham last time out. It was the third time in four games that they had scored at least three times. The Tractor Boys won the reverse match with Plymouth back in October 3-2.
