Tigre will be away to Platense on Sunday in round 20 of the Argentine Liga Professional. Both teams are separated by one point in the standings with Platense sitting in 14th place while Tigre are 16th. Platense will be seeking their first win over Tigre with this match having lost on both occasions they have met. Martin Palermo’s charges have had a rocky campaign thus far and have lost more matches, eight, than they have won, six. They were beaten 1-0 last time out by Argentinos Juniors, their third loss in the last five matches. The Calamar will be relieved to be returning home for this round as they have fared much better in front of home support. Platense have won the last three matches they have played at home and have done so without conceding a goal.

Tigre have also struggled this season but they do come to this match off the back of a win. Diego Martinez’s charges beat Academia Puerto Cabello 2-1 last time out in the Copa Sudamericana. The win ended a run of six matches without a win and they will seek to replicate this in the league. El Matador haven’t registered a league win since April but having dominated matches against Platense, they will be confident of getting one here. Tigre and Platense have played each other twice before with Tigre winning both matches by a combined seven goals with none conceded.
