The Utah Jazz face a tough challenge in this one as they take on the Phoenix Suns away from in a battle between two of the Western Conference’s elite. Utah will be at a rest disadvantage here as they will be playing this game on a back-to-back after just playing the Golden State Warriors the previous day, a game which the Jazz lost 94-92. A 3-7 run in their last 10 games has seen the Jazz drop down to the fourth spot in the West with a 30-17 record which puts them a full seven games behind their opponents today. Phoenix holds the top spot in the West and the best record in the NBA at 36-9 as they look to make another run at the finals. The Suns have been red hot lately, winning six in a row and nine of their last 10. They come into this match as significant favorites over a Jazz team missing it’s best offensive player.

Utah will be without star Donovan Mitchell for the fourth consecutive game as the guard remains in concussion protocol for a shot he took against the Lakers a few nights ago. With his absence, the Jazz lose their go-to option, leading scorer and a player who can create his own shot. Mitchell is the key cog that results in the Jazz having the highest scoring offense in the league at 114.7 points per game and without him they could struggle to keep up with another high powered scoring team in the Phoenix Suns. The defending Western Conference champions have the third ranked offense in the NBA at 112.5 points per game and also boast the league’s fifth best defense at 104.5 points allowed per game. While the Suns will likely be without big man Deandre Ayton, recent solid contributions by Biyombo and McGee have allowed Phoenix to continue its winning streak.
