Peterborough vs Derby County Prediction & Betting Tips - League One

Seventh placed Peterborough host Derby County who are fifth in League One. The home side begin the weekend one place and four points behind the final promotion play-off spot. Three points here would take them to within a point of their opponents. They'll also hope that sixth placed Bolton continue their poor form having only earned two points from their last four games. Peterborough have won three of their last four league fixtures with eight goals scored. in the past two, both away from home.  Last weekend saw them win 3-0 at Lincoln City and now they have this vital match at home to Derby County. Peterborough have won 11 home league games this season but lost five. Only one of their last three has been won with the most recent fixture at London Road seeing them beaten 3-0 by Cheltenham Town. That was only their second home loss in the last six league fixtures.

Derby County's hopes of automatic promotion took another step backwards last weekend. They lost 2-0 at home to Fleetwood Town and they have only earned four points from their last four games in League One. They are now eight points adrift of fourth placed Barnsley (from a game more) and 14 behind the second and final automatic promotion spot. The rest of the season therefore looks like being concentrated on securing their play-off position. After this game they host third placed Ipswich Town so it's a crucial period for them. Away form has been disappointing this season. Six away league games have been won but the same number drawn and six lost. That's compared with 12 home league win with just three defeats. They'd lost three successive away games in League One (with nine goals conceded) before a 3-2 win at Oxford United. We go for Peterborough to get a home win.
