Panathinaikos will entertain Anadolu Efes for Game 1 of their best-of-five EuroLeague playoff quarter-final series. The Greek giants have home-court advantage and will host the first two games as well as a fifth game if need be. Read on to find our prediction for this match.

Panathinaikos defeated Real Madrid to win the EuroLeague title last season, ending more than a decade's wait. The Greeks, who are seven-time European champions, have never won back-to-back titles and will hope this is the year they do.

The Greens finished the regular season with the third-best record, winning 22 of 34 games. One of their victories was a 104-89 success over Efes at home. Kendrick Nunn, who averaged a league-leading 21.1 points, was named MVP for the season.

Anadolu Efes also had a big win of their own against Panathinaikos during the regular season. The Turkish giants won 93-67 at home during the first leg.

They will hope for a similar result to offset Panathinaikos’ home court advantage. Efes, winners of two of the last four EuroLeague campaigns, made it to the playoffs after finishing as the sixth seed.

Luca Banchi’s men peaked at the right time, winning their final eight games to avoid the play-in. A downside to this, though, ahead of this game, is that Efes’ last loss in Europe came away to Panathinaikos.
