It’s the first meeting since 1994 between Oxford United and Leicester as the teams meet in a matchday five fixture of the 2025-26 Championship on Saturday. This match at Kassam Stadium between the 22nd-placed U’s and the fourth-placed Foxes comes with our prediction of an away win.

With only a point from their four matches (D1, L3), Oxford are one point outside the safety places. Leicester’s nine points (W3, L1) keep them one point behind the second-placed West Brom.

Oxford came twice from behind to draw 2-2 at home against Coventry in their last match before the international break. That ended a three-game losing streak in all competitions and was their first point of the league campaign.

The point was also a welcome relief for the home fans, as Oxford were beaten 1-0 by Portsmouth on matchday one in their first home fixture.

Leicester defeated Birmingham 2-0 at home to make it two consecutive wins going into the break. They kept their early promotion hopes alive with three wins out of four, but more importantly, they conceded only three goals in this league campaign.

The Foxes still have work to do on the road, as their only defeat of this league campaign came away from home at Preston when they lost 2-1 on matchday two.
