Germany are looking to reclaim the world championship in the coming World Cup competition in Qatar, and to start their preparations, they will be taking on Oman, away in Muscat. Oman failed to make it through the Asian qualification process and have thus planned a number of friendly matches to keep them busy during this window. To start them off is this game against Germany and they will be looking to improve on their performance against Jordan in the last game. They lost 1-0 in that one, making it the second time in three that they failed to score a goal. Oman have managed three clean sheets in the last five matches but this is the highest profile opponent they face in a while. At home, Oman have done well, going unbeaten in the last four. Arshad Al Alawi, Abdullah Fawaz and Khalid Al-Hajri have been key in this run, scoring a combined seven times in the last four matches.

Germany have named a strong team for the 2022 World Cup though they are set to miss a few key players who are injured and they had the comfort of leaving out a few top names, including goalkeeper Bernd Leno. The last time they trooped out for a game, Germany let a two-goal lead slip through their fingers against England, and it ended 3-3 with Kai Havertz scoring their equalizer. It was the fourth time in five matches that both teams scored in Germany’s matches. They have failed to score in one of their last five matches, and they lost that game – against Hungary. In two of their last three matches alone, Germany have scored eight goals and these were matches against very high-profile teams – England and Italy. The challenge posed by Oman will not be as tough and the most Germany will gain here is being able to adapt to the weather conditions.
