The Oklahoma City Thunder and Denver Nuggets will get their second-round NBA Playoff series underway in Game 1 at Paycom Center on Monday night. The winner of this series between the Thunder and Nuggets will face either the Warriors or the Timberwolves in the conference final. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

After ending the regular season as the best team in the NBA with a record of 68-14, the Oklahoma City Thunder carried that form into the Playoffs and swept the Grizzlies 4-0 in the first round. 

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was once again OKC’s top scorer in the first round, averaging 27.8 points per game, while Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren averaged 23.3 and 18.5 PPG, respectively.

While the regular season series between these sides was split 2-2, the Thunder have had over a week’s rest and only lost six games all season here at the Paycom Center.

Meanwhile, the Nuggets are entering the second round following an almighty battle against the Clippers that went the distance before Denver clinched Game 7 on Saturday night. 

Nikola Jokic produced his usual high standards, averaging 24.0 PPG, while Jamal Murray had an excellent second half of the series to finish with an average of 22.9 PPG and 5.9 assists per game.

Given that this game comes just 48 hours after their last, there are a few concerns about fatigue for the Nuggets. However, with the last game ending in a blowout, the Joker only had to play 32 minutes.
