A win for Novak Djokovic in this year's US Open would be his third Grand Slam victory of the year. He's done that before and each time won the Australian, Wimbledon and US Open titles. Djokovic is good but not good enough to win the French Open off Rafael Nadal.  He's only played one tournament since winning Wimbledon. That was in the recent Cincinatti Masters where he lost in the semi-finals to in-form Daniil Medvedev. He has only lost two of his last 17 games and in the first round beat Roberto Carbelles Baena in straight sets losing just nine games.

He takes on the Argentinian Juan Ignacio Londero who is ranked 56th in the world coming into this tournament. He beat Sam Querrey in the first round of this tournament taking his live ATP ranking up five places. Londero lost the first set of that match but then rattled off the next three to progress to the last 64. He's a clay court specialist winning this year's Cordoba Open in February and reaching the last sixteen of the French Open. His most recent tournament was the Cincinnati Masters where he beat world number 26 Matteo Berrettini before a straight sets defeat by Roger Federer. This is his first meeting with Djokovic and the tip is for him to win this match in straight sets.
