There's a lot at stake in this Rome Masters quarter final between Novak Djokovic and Felix Auger-Aliassime. A win for the top seed will see him confirm another week as the world number one. Defeat to the eighth seed on Friday will see Daniil Medvedev (still out injured) climb to the top of the rankings. Djokovic has already lost his top spot once this year and won't want a repeat so close to the French Open. The Serb is yet to win a tournament this year, his best performance being a loss to Andrey Rublev in the Serbia Open final. Last week saw him lose to Carlos Alcaraz in the semi-final of the Madrid Masters. This week has produced wins over Aslan Karatsev and Stan Wawrinka for the loss of only nine games. 

Felix Auger-Aliassime is the world number nine and this is his first match against Djokovic. He's up to eighth in the live rankings and will climb another place if winning this match. The Canadian is in his fourth consecutive quarter final but has lost the other three. He has won one title this year in Rotterdam and lost in the Marseille final. He had a tough time in his first match of this Rome Masters. Auger-Aliassime beat Alejandro Davidovich-Fokina but had to come from behind after losing the first set and needing a tie-break to win the second. The third round was a bit easier with victory over lucky loser Marcos Giron for the loss of just five games. Djokovic knows just how important this match is and he has played better this week. Back him to get a win in straight sets and keep his number one spot.
