World number Novak Djokovic has won the last three Grand Slam tournaments. He's bidding to again hold all four Grand Slam titles at the same time, a feat he also achieved when winning this title three years ago. This year has seen him win the Madrid clay court title and lose the Rome Masters final to Rafael Nadal. Not since 2009 has Djokovic failed to make it to at least the last eight in Paris. So far in this year's tournament he is yet to drop a set and has only lost 31 games in four matches. It's not been the toughest of draws though with one match against a qualifier and another with an opponent who was a lucky loser from the qualifiers.

Alexander Zverev is the fifth seed for this tournament but this is only the second time he has reached a Grand Slam quarter-final. His only other one was here last year when losing to Dominic Thiem. So far this year his clay court season has seen him reach the quarter-finals in Madrid but his form is nowhere near as good as his opponent. The two players have met four times in the past and it's level at 2-2. However, their only meeting on clay was two years ago with Djokovic winning in straight sets. Already Zverev has had to go to five sets on two occasions to get this far but this is even tougher and the tip is for under 34.5 games in the match.
