Nishesh Basavareddy vs Hamad Medjedovic Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Mallorca Open

After his early defeat at Hertogenbosch, Nishesh Basavareddy is back on grass, competing in Mallorca. The American youngster is set for his second career match against Hamad Medjedovic in the first round in Spain. The winner here will meet Alexandre Muller or Roman Safiullin, and below is our prediction.

Basavareddy’s first test on grass at the Libema Open ended in a first-round loss to Nuno Borges. He returns energized and has already negotiated his way past the qualifiers.

The 20-year-old beat Botic van de Zandschulp and Mariano Navone to earn his place in the Mallorca main draw. With a third win in only his fifth grass match, Basavareddy eyes revenge for his loss to Medjedovic at the 2024 US Open. 

Medjedovic didn’t have a memorable start to the grass season either. He is coming off a straight-sets defeat at the ATP London, inflicted by Adam Walton.

The loss left the Serbian on two straight defeats, as he had come up second best at the French Open against Daniel Altmaier in the third round. Medjedovic has five losses in his last seven matches.

In this current form, though better ranked, he may struggle. His last six matches on grass produced four defeats. In the latest 10 outings, Medjedovic lost at least a set in six.
