Nicolás Jarry vs Yannick Hanfmann Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Italian Open

Nicolas Jarry takes on the qualifier Jannick Hanfmann in the first round of the Rome Masters. The winner will face the ninth seeded Taylor Fritz in the second round. Jarry was as low as 155th in the rankings four months ago but has now risen to 56th. He's up to 52nd in the live rankings and a win over Hanfmann could take him into the top 50. His climb up the rankings began with some impressive performances on the South American clay court tour. He got to the last four in Buenos Aires and he took Carlos Alcaraz to end his run. He'd won five matches (all in straight sets) to get that far, including beating then world number 18 Lorenzo Musetti. His great form continued when he won the Santiago clay court event. He hasn' t done so well on the European season but did get to the last 16 in Monte Carlo getting a win over world number 20 Borna Coric. He'll want to bounce back from a first round loss to Roman Safiulln who was ranked just outside the top 100.

Jannick Hanfmann is 101st in the latest world ranking. The German is up to 98th after making his way through the Rome Masters qualifiers. That's just below his career-high ranking of 92nd achieved in 2021. He's been as low as 153rd in the rankings this year but has been getting some good results on clay. That included getting to the last eight in Buenos Aires where he lost to Jarry after winning the first set. He went one round further in Houston and beat then world number 18 Tommy Paul. His most recent clay court tournament saw him lose in the last 32 to fellow German Daniel Altmaier. To qualify for this main draw, Hanfmann won both his matches in straight sets. Jarry has won his two previous matches against Hanfmann both on clay and get another victory over the German.
