Nick Kyrgios vs Karen Khachanov Prediction & Betting Tips - US Open

Recent Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios takes on Karen Khachanov in the US Open quarter finals. It's been a big year for the controversial Australian who has won a title in Washington since losing to Novak Djokovic in his first Grand Slam final. He's just about keeping his cool in New York though you always feel he might be just a few minutes away from some kind of outburst. The fourth round saw him claim his second recent win over Daniil Medvedev and he's up to 18th in the live rankings. 23rd seeded Kyrgios had never previously made it past the third round of the US Open. This is only his fourth Grand Slam quarter final and 2022 is the first time he's reached two in the same year. 

He takes on the 27th seeded Karen Khachanov who began this tournament ranked 31st in the world. This run to his first Grand Slam quarter final since Wimbledon last year has him up to 23rd in the live rankings. The former world number eight will be up to 18th if he can get past Kyrgios. Like his opponent, this is his first time past the third round of the US Open. It's not been an easy route though and he's dropped a set in each of his matches. Would he have beaten Jack Draper in the thrid round if his opponent hadn't had to retire? The fourth round saw him have to go to five sets to beat Pablo Carreno Busta. The pair are 1-1 in previous meetings with Kyrgios beating Khachanov in five sets in this year's Australian Open.  Kyrgios should win this but our tip is to go for under 39.5 games in the match.
