Newcastle vs Everton Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League

Newcastle United face Everton on Tuesday in one of the first of the midweek set of Premier League games this week. Eddie Howe's team have been very strong at St James' Park this season, with the sixth best home record in the division, and they warmed up for this game with a dramatic come-from-behind 4-3 victory over West Ham at the weekend. The Hammers led 3-1 before an Alexander Isak penalty (his second of the game) and a late double from Harvey Barnes snatched the win for the home side. That result leaves Newcastle in eighth place in the table, just a point behind West Ham and with a game in hand. They also closed the gap on sixth placed Manchester United to just five points after United's 1-1 draw away to Brentford. Unbeaten in their last four at St James' Park and with a number of players starting to return from lengthy injuries, the Magpies will be confident of gaining revenge for their 3-0 defeat at Goodison Park earlier in the season.

That three-goal victory at Goodison was Everton's best performance of the season, especially at home where Sean Dyche's men have struggled. The Toffees away record isn't bad at all, ranking them 10th in the Premier League of all teams performances on the road,  but recently even that crumb of comfort has deserted them as they have lost three of the last four road games including the last two games - a 2-0 away defeat to Mancester United and then most recently their 2-1 loss to Bournemouth at the weekend, when a late Seamus Coleman own goal did the damage and saw Everton remain on 25 points. However, with only Bournemouth in the bottom half of the table winning at the weekend, the damage by yet another defeat was mitigated somewhat. The Toffee's defensive record is very good. Their 41 goals conceded is better than Aston Villa and Tottenham, but just 30 goals scored tells the tale of a team who have found finding the net incredibly tough and they may need to do that multiple times here if they are going to get anything from this game.
